I went to the gym last night and worked out for about 30 minutes. Then I went over to the community center and went swimming with the girls for another 30 minutes.
I went back to work today, and again I'm realizing that I didn't eat right or drink enough today. I need to start making a lunch and taking it with me every day. I also need some way to remember to eat and drink throughout the day; I get busy at work and don't think about it.
Here are the stats for today:
Date: November 10, 2010
Weight: 287 pounds
Went to bed last night at: 12:00am
Got up at: 11:00am
Exercise: Stairs at work and a small amount of hefting logs.
Food: Pretty much nothing.
Drink: Sporadic drinks of water.
Vitamins, etc.: Two probiotics.
How I Felt: Today started off well, but I slowed down quite a bit. I should have realized that I need to eat something every now and then...
Ed, keeping easy snacks around is a good idea. The healthiest guys I know are grazers. hard boiled eggs, almonds, steamed chicken breasts pre bagged, anything to make it convenient to snack throughout the day. Starving yourself like this decreases your energy and metabolism and increases your long term risk of diabetes.
ReplyDeleteRon is right. Here is an idea, that you might hate...or maybe you will love it like I do (seriously - I am totally addicted). Garbanzo beans! They are super nutritious (although kidney beans - especially white kidney beans are even more nutritious). There is hardly anything easier that opening a can and eating them, but I also cook up a bunch in my pressure cooker and freeze them in smaller portions.
ReplyDeleteI usually eat them with a little aged balsamic and salt on them and sometimes take the time to add a little fresh cilantro and maybe onion. But, lemon juice, garlic, salt and maybe a little drizzle of olive oil is great (think hummus). Fresh parsley, lemon and salt is good too.
Anyway, it is an almost instant super healthy meal that can be had right off the shelf with no pre-prepping required. Bonus: Beans (and tomatoes) are on sale right now with a coupon at Freddy's for $.50 a can.
I also cook up a huge batch of brown rice in my rice cooker and freeze it in smaller portions. It heats up in about 1.5 minutes in the microwave and I just drizzle on a little Thai seasoning sauce and sprinkle on some Furikake Bonito. Yummy, healthy and super fast and easy.
