Well, I didn't make anything to eat before bed last night, and I woke up one pound heavier. That said, I made a lot of really good decisions. Seeing as its very late tonight, I'll keep my dialogue short. I really appreciate your support and suggestions; please keep them coming.
Here it is for today:
Date: November 4, 2010
Weight: 290 pounds
Went to bed last night at: 1:30am
Got up at: 10:30am
Exercise: Moderate exercise. I walked to work (2 miles; 11:00am) and walked to the MAX (.25 miles; 9pm) and home from the MAX (.5 miles; 9:30pm).
Food: Two slices of whole wheat toast with peanut butter for breakfast (11am); assorted fruit, a small handful of tortilla chips and two bites of cake as a snack (8pm); leftover pasta bake for dinner (10:30pm).
Drink: About 20oz water (I didn't do nearly as well today...)
Vitamins, etc.: Two probiotics.
How I Felt: I had a very difficult and stressful day, but I think I handled it pretty well. The toast and brisk walk to work felt really good in the morning, but then my good habits slowly slipped.
I applaud your decision to hold yourself accountable by publishing this daily. You do know that you need to eat more protein, and eat more frequently? You need to eat regularly throughout the day to get your metabolism going, and you need to eat protein to help build up your cells and organs, etc. If youre getting enough protein your system is more likely to use your stored carbohydrate (fat) for an energy source. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with anonymous on the protein tips. And not trying to put you down, just help you out, but cake is NOT a snack. A snack could be an apple and wheat thins(11 pieces or so), or celery with peanut butter, or mozzarella stringed cheese and yogurt. If you have to indulge, but not overdue it, try picking 1 day out of the week. Mine is Friday :-) for when I'm craving pizza or ice cream (low fat), but not both the same day and just 1 meal of that day. And lastly don't be discouraged about gaining a pound or 2 on daily weigh ins. You have to remember we carry something called poop inside of us and it could just be undigested food left over the night before. So, always weigh yourself in the morning and after you have used the restroom.
ReplyDeleteHi Edward!! Following and cheering you on!! I am catching up a few days... read this post and wanted to make a couple of comments. One, try to to eat dinner (or anything too big really) right before bed.... if you feed your body too late it won't digest as well in a resting state as when you are up and about!! Also, be sure to get lots of sleep!! Sleeping well not only helps with stress but will help you get a more regular schedule all around! Keep up the good work!
