The storms have moved in and its getting pretty cold outside. I need to find some good activities for exercise inside. I'm used to walking to work, but I'm a wuss and can't really take it. I jog the stairs at work, but there are only ~12 up to my office. Any ideas?

Weight: 289 pounds
Went to bed last night at: 1:00am
Got up at: 7:00am
Exercise: Not much activity today. The cold that I have been fighting seems to have backed off most of the way and I have a bit more energy.
Food: Banana, fiber bar, hot dog
Drink: Too little water...
Vitamins, etc.: Cod Liver Oil (Yay! Vitamin D!)
Exercising when it's cold and rainy outside is quite difficult. There are a few things I do indoors when I don't like the idea of facing the weather.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a set of weights, you can incorporate using them into part of your fitness routine. It won't improve your cardio health, but what it will do is use up more calories in your day.
You say you have a pet? I know that I just said that facing the weather when it's this cold can really suck, but a great idea if you are up to it is walking the dog energetically. The half hour of exercise recommended for adults does NOT have to be all in the same time. Three ten-minute sessions with the pooch and you are on your way to some more fitness!
Also, rough-housing (gently!) with your children is a great way to burn calories. The little cuties might be very happy if their dad chased them around the house for a little while in fun.
